For every business there exists the question of their competition. How do we compare to the rest? Where do they have us beat, and where do we exceed them? How do we surpass them? How do we get a step ahead, and then another step ahead, and then another and another, and how do we stay there? How do we separate ourselves from the competition entirely? What is our differentiator?
For us at Machine Technology, these questions exist on two levels. How do we achieve the best results for ourselves so that, in turn, our clients can achieve the best outcomes for themselves. It’s a symbiotic relationship. For our clients, their success and their standing amongst their competition is a reflection of how successfully we have met their needs.
In a recent discussion with a business we know quite well, we asked these questions of them. They had managed to separate themselves from others in their industry to such a degree that it seemed foolish to even call it a competition; but how did this come to be? Their answer – hiring quality staff. By building a strong foundation from the strong support of their staff, no matter which direction they chose to go in, they had the trust in their people to take them where they needed to be. Quality people make for a quality business.
This answer rings true with much of our philosophy here at Machine Technology. Yes, we possess a great number of tools, machinery and technology which allows us to manufacture high quality goods. But the true success of these products is the mindset which has been built behind them, a mindset which grew from our commitment to bring really great, high quality people into our business. And this is the guarantee which we are able to offer to our clients.
We know that what we have internally here at Machine Technology is a model built to succeed. When our clients choose to outsource their manufacturing and bring us into their fold, they do so knowing that we provide a quality service. We are experts in what we do because of the quality of our people, which allows our clients to be experts in what they do. We are what sets them apart because we have already set ourselves apart. We are the differentiator.
