Machine Technology has a rich history of excellence and innovation in the field of precision engineering and manufacturing. Since we were founded in 1927 as John McGain Products, we have continually evolved to meet the changing needs of our clients and the industry. 

Over the past 95+ years, we have expanded our capabilities, embraced new technologies, and maintained our commitment to quality and customer satisfaction.

  • 1927

    Founded as John McGain Products.

  • 1930s - 1940s

    Major supplier to Australian Defence during WWII; invented and produced Australia's first spray sports field line marker, the "Fountain Line Marker."

  • 1940s - 1970s

    Supported the growth of local White Goods, Telecommunications, and Agricultural industries, employing over 80 skilled Australian workers.

  • 1980s - 2000s

    Redeveloped the Fountain Line Marker, re-establishing it as a market leader.

  • 2000s - 2020s

    Invested in advanced manufacturing technology and automation; expanded into Medical and Hygiene sectors.

  • 2021 - Present

    Focused on sustainable business practices, reinforcing our role as a thought leader in Australian manufacturing.
